Afterglow is a celebration of community. Join us to walk, run, roll, ride, dance, race, party and explore.  Registration available on site or at https://www.bikereg.com/afterglow Contact Paul Fitzgerald (paul@bigmarsh.org) with questions.

Afterglow has always been about lifting each other up and empowering our community to thrive, started as just a cyclocross race and has evolved into a bike-run-dance-party. We’re offering events for all ages, abilities and interests.

Registration is free, however, if you find yourself in a privileged situation of having resources to donate to great events like this, please contribute your $$$ at www.mightycause.com/story/Bigfuturebighill

Event descriptions:

5k run – Race around Big Marsh in this timed event.

1.5 mile walk or roll – Walk or roll around Big Marsh at your pace.  We will have someone lead the way.  This route is fully accessible.  Wheel chairs, stroller, 2 legged dogs…lets get all bodies out there to enjoy the park.

Serious Bike Race – Race your bike on our more technical course in this timed event. The race will work like a 40 minute cyclocross race. Bikes with at least one working brake and tires 33mm or larger.

Medium Serious Bike Race – Same course and format as the Serious Bike Race but for 30 minutes instead of 40. Bikes with at least one working brake and tires 33mm or larger

Community Fun Ride led by champions of The Big Marsh Roman Salazar and Oludarasimi Olusoga Ride in this open event with a focus on lifting up community and addressing some barriers. Loaner bikes and gear available day of. The course will be an option between some technical and narrow sections or wide paths. The course is paracycle accessible and the ride is fully supported. Ride your cargo bike, hop on a tandem with a stranger, borrow a Divvy…..all bikes are welcome. A large group ride, at a relaxed pace, that welcomes all bikes and bodies. Roman and Oludarasimi will take us on a route of their choice and show us their favorite parts of the park.

Mike D and BangOut Cardio Dance – A workout that uses footwork choreography to

Youth Bike Event – For the young people in attendance.  30 minutes on a course that is a combination of all trails in Big Marsh Park.
