You won’t want to miss the Fairy House Village Family Day at Big Marsh Park this Saturday, June 18, from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
The Chicago Park District and its partners invite families and friends to join us at Big Marsh Park to celebrate the installation of the 2022 Fairy House Village. For the event, fairy houses were created by local scout groups, families and park visitors. Take a walk through the village and participate in fairy-themed activities including miniature furniture making, puppet shows, and face painting or hike, bike and picnic in the park. Fairy costumes are encouraged! This event is Free and open to the public.
There is also an opportunity to Build Your Own Fairy House from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
In this family friendly program, participants work together in groups of up to 3 family or friend groups, to build and decorate fairy and elf houses using only natural materials. Youth are encouraged to connect with nature by creating their own personalized, eco-friendly fairy house and either taking it home with them or installing it in Big Marsh Park’s Fairy House Village. All materials and supplies are provided. Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite fairy of elf costume. After the workshop join in the festivities at the Big Marsh Fairy House Family Event.
